Why I am a candidate:

Dear APWPT-Members,

Since June last year, I have had the privilege of serving as a co-opted member of the APWPT-Board, representing the interests of users of radio spectrum in our sector. This experience has further strengthened my conviction that it is extremely important to place users at the centre of our political efforts to safeguard access to the frequencies our industry depends on. This is more important than ever and for this reason, I would like to stand for election to continue serving on the Board.

I have spent more than 15 years at the heart of the Brussels policy environment, working on European public affairs. My career began at the EBU, representing public broadcasters, and continued at Pearle* – Live Performance Europe, where I further developed my expertise in cultural and live event policy. In 2023, I gained first-hand experience inside the European Parliament as a Press Officer to a Member of the European Parliament. Since September 2024, I have been working as European Affairs Director at the German Entertainment Technology Association (VPLT).

I would be pleased to further work on professionalising the communication of APWPT with the public and expanding relationships with key stakeholders in Brussels. In addition, I would support efforts to broaden our membership beyond Germany, strengthening our international network. It is key to deepen cooperation with our partner associations and together prepare for the 2027 and 2031 World Radiocommunication Conferences.

We need to be represented as a strong voice in political decision-making, and I would be honoured to continue contributing to these efforts as a member of the Board and would greatly appreciate your support.

Kind regards,

Silke Lalvani
